Asansol district officials discuss setting up school road safety committee

A high-level administrative meeting was held today at the office of District Magistrate (DM) of West Burdwan with school authorities by the civil, police and transport authorities in connection with transportation of children through school buses and pool cars.

DCP Traffic Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate (ADPC), Additional District Magistrate (General), ADM Development, transport and school education department officials were present along with representatives from various schools across Asansol Sadar Sub-Division and Durgapur Sub-Divisions in West Burdwan district.

All the Schools, both private and public in West Burdwan district, have been asked to form a school road safety committee by 31 March this year for implementing the transport department’s advisory on operation of school buses and pool cars.

The committee shall include representatives from guardians, students and transporters in addition to school management.
